Good luck this weekend girls. Anyone going to put points up this weekend?

I'm gonna hike up my skirt, and pull an all dayer tomorrow. 6 am bass tourney (last one for the year) 3:00 appointment with the woods. If I see the big doe that ruined my hunt earlier this week. She is gonna meet the buissness end of my xx78 superslam. Maybe there will be some bone roaming around tomorrow too.

Good luck to all.

Team 8 ....the Clique question

So I meant to bring this up before the season started. But, I've been busy. Anyways, I wanted to ask if every one would be up for me donating a custom hunting knife, hand made by my father and a custom wooden grunt tube to the biggest buck/ highest score on team 8 (only team 8). Or maybe splitting it up. Knife to 1st, grunt tube to 2nd. If it's me I defer to the next person. I would of course probably have to clear it with the moderators.

Thoughts, questions????? Yes, No!

Mike

P.S. 92xj the buck you shot wouldn't count cause you posted it before I offered this..... :poke:

I sat this morning and had two deer come in about 30 minutes after I got on stand. Still too dark to see what they were, one walked within 10 feet of my tree, the other stayed out about 20 yards and grunted a few times. The closet one caught wind of me and eased back out. They didn't return.

Still nothing for me gents. Been mostly seeing does, and a couple small forks. I have only had one doe present a shot and them walked out of the shooting lane before I could shoot. I am working all weekend and plan on getting back out Monday pm. 92, great looking muley. Good luck guys this weekend. Wade

I sat all weekend and started to see the small bucks on their feet during legal hours. It got back inot the 60's on Saturday and Sunday, so movement was right at last light and even after dark. Saturday I got stuck in my stand until 7:30. This week temps are suppose to fall back into the 40's for highs. Hopefully that will get the bigger bucks up and moving.

Close but no cigar!

I hunted Thursday through Sunday afternoon. A lot of movement with the cooler temps. Saturday afternoon one of the bucks on my hit list appears with 6 others. The hit list buck was this wide 8 point I have velvet pics of.

I'm hunting a natural ground blind on the edge of the field. First pass he's walking...ranged 56 yards...too far. He goes to an oak one the edge of the field where a 6 point & another 8 point is feeding. About 5 minutes passes...here he comes where several other young bucks are feeding in front of me all inside the 35 yard line. Finally an open shot at 32 yards. I start to draw...then a 3.5 year old buck steps in front of him at 30 yards. No shot...waiting for him to move. A noise to my left sends them all to full alert. I'm looking at the head & neck of the wide 8 over the back of the younger buck. Maybe 30 seconds pass...they all break & trot off. I wanted to throw up! With the coast clear & light fadding, I ease out to return the Sunday afternoon. Sunday afternoon 6 bucks show up, 4 of the same ones from the prior afternoon but not the wide 8. I passed a shot at a marginal mature 8 point waiting to see if the wide 8 would show. He didn't. With light fadding fast the mature 8 begins to get possessive about his space. He wheezes 5 times at any other buck that got too close. Great show! I stayed till I couldn't see with my 10x50 binocs, then eased out.

Oh well...that's hunting...I'll be back!

went out tonight to move and put up a couple more stands. It appears that my neighbor thinks it is ok to hunt on my property.....gggrrrrrr. found 3 stands on my property. All 100 yards or so from the property line...funny thing is that the line is posted like every 100 feet and they are his signs. Must have been in there pretty heavy by the looks of it. Cause all the traffic is moved to where my stands are at. So I'll hold off saying anything for a couple weeks :pop: hoping to get out this weekend.

Well team the season so far has been the most disappointing since I started archery hunting 5 years ago. Typically at work this is our slow time of the year so I can usually take time off with no problem. It is the complete opposite this year. I have been stuck working 50-60 hour weeks for the past month. Well yesterday I talked to my boss and told him that I need some sanity time. So I have this and the following Friday and Saturday off to try and seal the deal. My family's property hasn't been hunted yet, so I am hoping that with no pressure and the rut in full swing that I can tag out. Best of luck to everyone that goes out this weekend.

I haven't checked in for a while. I've been out a few times and had some nice encounters. It's too bad they have all been basket racked 8's. I just don't know where the bucks we pass on year to year go to. It seems we pass on a lot of bucks that "will be nice next year". Well it's next year and I don't see any big ones. Just a little frustrated I guess. Going to get out there this week as much as possible. Those little ones that I have seen, have been moving during the day. Should be any day now that the big ones that are around get moving.

I finally saw a decent shooter last night. He came in behind me and never gave me a decent shot. He was a tall tined 8 pointer. I tried grunting a little bit and even threw a snort wheeze at him, but he didn't bite. He either wasn't quite ready to fight or he has had his butt whipped a few too many times.

Heading back out the next few day, hoping to get him in closer.

Sunday morning when I got on stand it was 36 degrees, it was amazing. This weekend looks like its going to be in the mid 40s with a high around 90, Gross. Hopefully my big boy walks out. Havent got him back on cam in a while, so who knows. I wish it would just go on and snow and kill off all the undergrowth. This weekend will be the last weekend to hunt this whitetail till Thanksgiving, hopefully it all works out. And here he is.....

It was pretty quite in the woods of Buffalo County last night. Not sure if that affected the deer movement, but I didn't hear anything until last light. It was a knock down drag out fight between what sounded like 2 pretty good sets of antlers. This wasn't no ticking of the antlers, there was some serious cracking and smashing going on. A few minutes after it started, I heard the loser running off behind me. This is the second night in a row I have seen or heard the big boys out and about. They have been one step ahead of me these last couple days. That ends this weekend.

Sure has been a rough season so far. Sat last night only to have a trespasser come walking thru. I'm glad I was there though. He had several of my neighbors trail cams that he was trying to make off with. I think he passed the deer he spooked threw when I spoke to him from 25 feet up in my best drill instructor voice and then sank an arrow in the ground behind his skinny butt. He dropped every thing he was carrying and ran like a scared rabbit. He sounded like a freight train crashing thru the corn field. Called my neighbor and returned his cameras. He told me one of the cameras was only 4 days old.....:bang: Hopefully that was the last time he comes around. Now I get to go look to see what is missing of mine......So much for staying out of the bedding areas.

On a good note all the corn got cut on my property yesterday and today. So now it's on like donkey kong! Good luck guys! Congrats on the does Slash.

OK teammates...I'm on the board with a bigun! Believe it or not...it's the same buck I missed on Saturday, Oct. 29th. He gave me a 2nd opportunity Friday afternoon. 12 scorable points...buck gross scored 154 1/2". Needless to say...I WAS PUMPED! Here's one pic...I posted the story in the bowhunting room. I'll get the required pics posted tomorrow including a pic with a tape on the shortest G2 kicker that measured 1 1/8".

Congrats Slash on the does.
