Hoosier what I am doing I hunted Sat-AM and Sun-AM & PM and will go back in this Sat-AM and Sun-AM. I will not hunt afternoons due to the heat. They are still moving in the mornings! I need a doe bad due to freezer being empty! I watched 11 deer go under my other stand from 100 yards away! I was ready to cry! That was on Saturday so Sunday I went in and had three does at 25 yards but no shot provided. I will get one soon. I feel it!

I went out Saturday morning and had two come by. One was right before light and the other was a small buck that I had at 5 yards. The rest of my weekend is shot due to a bruised tendon in my draw hand. I thought I broke my wrist but glad that it is just a bruise/sprain. I will be back at it this coming weekend. Here is the little fella!

Duck Season is here!!!! This is Hemi's first duck opener and I'm so pumped up. This excitement takes me back to when I was a kid and the night before gun season opened. As an added bonus I'm taking my dad duck hunting for the first time! It's pretty windy out there right now, but I could care less. I just want to see Hemi's first retrieve and dad's first duck. Wish us luck!!!

I made it out for just the second time this season today. It is the early muzzleloading season this weekend and I had to work Friday night so saterdays was a no go,I got out this morning sat until I thought the wind was going to blow me out of the tree and it's going to be 77 deg today. Man I wish we could get some cooler temps.

I got her entered for the contest. I'm on doe patrol on two properties so it's a good thing that the contest doesn't allow multiple deer because IN gives a county limit with no agg on does and both these properties need deer removed and the county limits are 8 a piece. 1 down and only 15 more to go! I can say the smokepole will do some serious talking in late muzzleloader. I'll end up donating most of the deer to the local food pantry. Indiana has a good donation program to feed the hungry. I'm not much on donating money as I do not know how the funds are distributed, but food is my way of helping out.

Well I got my second doe last night. She was slightly quartering to at 30 yards. I thought I made a perfect hit, but upon inspection of the arrow it was milky brown and I could not find anyblood so I left her overnight and returned this morning. That was a mistake. I actually smoked this doe and I was looking in the wrong cornrow for the blood. She only made it 125 yards. It was a lung/liver hit. Here's what the yotes left for me.

I hunted my new property for the first time today. We have purposely stayed off this until now. It's 170 acres that hasn't been hunted in 30+ years. We didn't even run trail cameras on it until starting with one on 10-12. I pulled that card today and we have two 5.5 year olds on camera. I had one of them underneath me at literally 2 steps this morning prior to shooting light for 15 minutes. On the evening hunt my hunting partner had another shooter that wasn't on camera come in to 60 yards before flaring off. I had the 140's main frame 11 with kickers this morning. We also have a main frame 150's 10 with dual split brows. The last buck seen this evening is a 160's clean 10 that's about 21 wide. Needless to say we are extremely excited to pursue these deer!

Hunted saturday morning and only saw a spike. Last night I hunted near a cut bean field adjoining our property. THe neighbor was sitting on the other side of the field last wednesday and saw a huge buck following some does. Last night I saw 8 deer but only one buck. Things seem like they are picking up around here based on camera pics and scrapes
