Stone that's a great buck!

I had probably my best weekend in the woods even though I wasn't hunting. We laid down a 152 2/8ths with me behind the camera on an urban property, Had another hitlister at 11 steps and couldn't kill him, then we passed our mid 160's 3.5 year old(yes we might be crazy)! Oh yeah and got a new set hung and did some scouting. One more thing, it is all on video!

We have tons of trail cam and video of this buck we killed this weekend. Eveything came together perfect with the SE wind and my buddy arrowed him a full two hours before sunset at 21 yards! I apologize that I cannot post a pic of him right now, but hopefully I can a little later in the year. Overall what a stellar weekend

Hey guys, checking in. I've been out a couple times scouting the last two weeks, our property is the looking the best it has in years. Not a lot of big buck sign, but around me they usually hide out until a little later in the season. I'm usually good for a couple of does early in the season, then i'll look for a buck. Going out to check the camera tonight.

Any name is good for me. Good luck.

I'm impatiently waiting for our opener this saturday. It actually looks like the weather is going to cooperate too. High is supposed to be 60. Which typically is unheard of for early bow season in So IL.

Trail cam has had some does, fawns, and one mediocre 8 ptr. But nothing too consistant. There are a lot of acorns dropping already so I think the deer are just meandering and not sticking to any particular trails.

I hunted Saturday morning, I had a small buck and three doe's come in but I could not draw back with out one of them seeing me. Just as I started to draw on one of the doe's she turned and cought me at half draw so I had to let the bow back down. She didn't spook but she knew something wasn't right and they all walked off.

I think I'm going to pump the breaks on hunting here for a little bit. I'm getting no mature daylight activity on camera and my buddys are saying the same thing. We have a warm front in now for the next 8 days. Well see if I can stand to stay out of the woods that long but for now that seems to be the plan.

Same here, no daytime movement, warm temps...time to give the deer a break for a few days
