Went this afternoon, but got rained out. checked the cam and had a few decent bucks walking the trail into the field. I also got this deer and I cant help but wonder if this is the buck I shot on Christmas day. I can see where his outline (which is all I could see from behind) could fit the description near dark.

Maybe not the same, but I got to wonder. If it is, I sure aint so upset now, lol. Tall bugger though.

Its good to see we still got guys out in the field. Good luck for the rest of your season. Being where we are in the standings shows we all had a good year. I got a new camera for Christmas, if I get around to it I might give it a try in the woods in the next couple of weeks, to see what we've missed lol.

Weather here has been crappy. Been the worst season I have had at least in the last ten or so years. Will be the first season for me not taking a buck if I can't do anything in the next two weekends. I'm seeing smaller bucks, just WAY smaller than we can take, and most not even legal by our state a/r's.

Going to try not to get skunked though, but if I can't post some bone, it won't be for lack of trying.

Also if Chance don't update our score I'll pm him in next few days, I know he's probably busy and doing this on his own time, we'll get everything that's coming to us.

Still at it, but the weather is the worst you can imagine. Tornado watch in effect today gulf air rushing north temps in upper 70s. I did kill one more pw doe, but not going to help us. Call it what you will, climate change, or whatever but the weather here is changing and its not helpful that's for sure. Last few januarys have been like this and used to jan and feb were our coldest months.

I did have a cool gnarly 8 on cam once in last week, but im hunting my wifes land today so i can shoot anything state legal.

same up north here..think our weather is going bonkers!!..anyways..wide 8pt I was after here got broke off last eve..he came in with full rack..went off and apparently are still fighting overs does or territory...came back in two hours later snapped off 6" from base

Must have does still coming into estrus for them to be fighting that hard. That is not good. Sounds like too few adult bucks to does. I think most of our state is like that. I know it is here. That is why you see bucks with antlers yet in March. They still have high levels of testosterone.

Your right...very few big bucks..at least on my farm...wolves. bears & coyotes, and spotlighters are taking it's toll..plus some people have reverted to shooting the young bucks

just found a button buck dead today..didnt look like an attack, but it snowed late Monday..all i saw was coyote tracks, apparently they fed on it overnight
