SourthenILdeerhunter Posted December 5, 2011 Report Share Posted December 5, 2011 congrats snake. well my season is over unless i get my muzzleloader back int ime for last muzzleloader season took some shots at 3 diffrent bucks sat 3 on a running spike 2 at at tall and wide 8 pt i mean wide i glassed him in ym binos and i started getting shakes bad got steady enough to pull 2 shots off btu with em using open sights instead of a scope i missed twice. then 1 shot at a decent 6 pt open sights just aint my thing for shooting longer than 10 yards Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
MUDRUNNER Posted December 5, 2011 Report Share Posted December 5, 2011 Congrats on the six Snake! The weather was good Thursday and Friday, warm and windy Saturday, and rainy Sunday. Unfortunately the deer just weren't around. I seen three does Thursday, and that was it for the whole weekend. That makes for some long sits. I may get out bowhunting a few more times this year, but things are starting to wind down for me. It's been a weird season for me, only seeing about half the number of deer I normally do. I have seen a million small 6pts, 4pt, and spikes, and several decent, but still young 8pts that just aren't quite big enough for me to pull the trigger on. The rut is passed and I never got to pull the trigger on a buck to my standards. I saw a ton of bucks though! And I'll still be in the woods a lot on case big daddy decides to slip up again but normally the daylight deer activity gets less less as the year progresses around this time every year. Activities like hunting really mean very little when put up against the really important things, like the relationships we forge as we go through life. More then I thought, but not as much as I hoped. I passed a bunch of small bucks, and never saw a shooter all season. I was at full draw on 2 doe, but didn't like the shot ,and passed on both. This is the first year in 10 years I didn't score. Sorry I let you all down.
