Did check my trail cameras too, a couple buck have me thinking. But time will tell. I will try and upload some of those pics later.
the one
way to go team mates i will be hitting the wood this weekend and try to add some points
swohiodave
not too much moving sunday. It was nice out but the woods are still too thick to see very far. I had a few does moving around 50 yards out. Next weekend i am moving my treestand about ten yards to a different tree that offers better views of the trails i am watching. sskybnd
well team checking back in season so far has had its ups and down, been falling into a rookie patteren, only have gotten to hunt 4 days so far, opening morning had 2 does coming down the logging road off the the right of my corn and food plot, they were 30 yards away but i thought just watch them and they will turn into the plot giving me a 20+ yard shot, but as i watched them they just kept walking the road eating leaves, knew i should have taken the shot when i had it. that was day 1, day 2 from the same stand, i had a doe come in to the corn she was realy nerves and would jump at any little sound, now im 40 ft in a pine trying to get the draw on her, i dont know if she seen me, heard me or what but as soon as i releast the arrow she spun around and i eneded up hitting her high in the hip, we looked for blood for ever but never found any, we found the arrow and i just bought the swackers, the arrow was broke off about a 1/4 in from the broadhead we think she'l live but might have a limp from now on, on with the rookie mistakes going to my blind on the 3rd day, i rounded the bend to where i enter the road that leads to the blind there stands 2 does about 40 yards just standing there looking at me, and of course i had no arrow in the bow and as i tried to get one out they ran off, and than i but blew at walking out from my stand tonight, hopeful now i can get back to hunting and get one on the ground,
Randy
Good job guys! Way to put them down! It's been a slow start for me this season, of course I've only made it out once... LOL I saw five bucks, only one of which was a 2 1/2 year old. The rest were small. This heat needs to go away. However, I took My son Avery out last night for the youth deer hunt and he put the smackdown on an awesome 10 pointer with a 18 5/8" inside spread. Pics and story to follow... ; )
dbHunterNY
Good job Randy. Congrats to Avery! Good luck this season tagging a big one! No pressure. lol sskybnd you've just had to kick the dust off and get back to the swing of things. you'll get one! Good luck.
ilhnter
Congrats everyone on the kills. I've been out 3 times since season opened and have seen 3 deer so far, but nothing close enough yet. Going to try it again in the morning. I wish this weather would break and cool off...gets rough sitting out there with temps in the mid 80's. good luck everyone!
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Congrats to you and Avery, Randy. Weather is still warm here., should be going down this weekend. Almost the middle of October, it should NOT be 70-80 degrees here in Michigan lol. 5 more weeks until our U.P. trip, can't come fast enough. swohiodave
weather was awful for hunting last weekend. Way too warm to see the deer really moving. I saw a few does pretty far out and that was about it. I am glad the leaves are falling, the deer are all over this hill but i cannot see them!
