Had shot opportunity on most of them last nite under 20 yards. Only one problem.... The big boys arent showing thier faces , Gage and i are banging our heads trying to figure them out. The ony reason we can think of is the un seasonably warm weather. When I left the F%#@$# weatherman said mid 60's for highs, then it was 70's now yesterday was 84 degrees. Un believable Now a few might wonder why I came this early? 1st would luv to kill one of these brutes in velvet 2nd No one hunt up here in archery best kept secret except for the weather. Last year this week was averaging the low 60's for highs and lows in the 40's The day i got here it was 63 go fihure well last comment for the day It hunting! Sounds like you are having some of the kinda luck I have with the weather when I take trips. Only done 2 away from home hunts and both to places(Wyoming and Wisconsin) where it was expected to be cool to cold weather at the time I was there, but ended up having daytime t shirt weather for the majority of the time there, and YES it absolutely does hamper deer movement. Hopefully a shooter will show.. Not looking to good for that due to 80 degrees again. But we call it hunting , not killing.. And Its not eover yet so Im keeping my chin up till the e nd knowing that I did all i could do considering weather. dbHunterNY Posted September 10, 2011 Report Share Posted September 10, 2011 sorry slight delay... approximately 50 min ago Tim had a 170 class buck out at only 115 yards with no shooting light left. the guys did their best. unseasonably warm temps and other stuff aside, i'm sure that 170 class buck didn't get that big by wondering around during shooting hours.
