stevebeilgard
good post, luke! most americans are pretty stupid and think it will all go away if we ignore it and forgive them. it won't. i have not forgotten, will not forgive (remember, forgiveness requires an act of contrition and a desire to be forgiven and they are not), and will never forget. in fact, i think we'll see their ugly heads rise up again within the next 18 months. ScottyLuck
I live a little over an hour from Ground Zero. It's impossible to forget! I know people that work in Manhatten. I also remember the eerie silence during the week following. The only thing breaking the silence in the sky was an occasional fighter jet tearing on by. It's hard to believe it's been 10yrs already. I sit and watch some of the footage and it's like it happened yesterday.
wtnhunt
Hard to believe it has been 10 years already. No way to forget that day or anything about what took place. Afraid Steve may well be right and am concerned that complacency of many will eventually open us up again.
Adjam5
I have been getting teary eyed daily the last few weeks on the job. The Memorial Plaza is getting closer to being opened to the public for this coming Sunday. It will be ready. It is beautiful. I have not forgotten. My union, Local 3 IBEW lost 17 electricians that day. 2 of whom I knew personally. Not to mention my cousins husbands brother, a few cops I knew and another guy from high school I knew. I have been writing the names of our lost electricians on the light fixture brackets I have been installing in the ceiling. They will not be able to be seen by the public, it is on the dark side of the ceiling but it is my tribute to them. Sunday is gonna be a rough day in NYC. PotashRLS
It is something I will never forget. I am not shy about my personal beliefs and views regarding it either!!! America can no longer let it's guard down, not even for a second. God Bless all those who lost their lives that day.

c_lou
I remember where I was, what I was wearing and who I was standing next to. I remember the exact conversation I had with my wife over the phone.
RangerClay
No I have not forgotten. Everytime I look at the clock and see 9:11 I always stop in my tracks. I also have not forgotten Darryl Worley's anti-war song shortly after Sept. 11th. I try not to listen to him.
Cleburne
Woke up that morning and it was all over the news. Put a tape in the VCR and recored six hours of video footage. My son was two then and we set in his bean bag and watched the news as it was happening. Sad times for sure.
Newarcher
Was sitting on the corner of the bed in FL on vacation. Will definitely never forget. Sunday after attending our Church services, I took my kids to get some really overpriced ice cream and then to the park. As I was sitting there watching kids of all ages play and their parents smile and laugh with each other I thought to myself "America isn't about buildings and they'll never destroy it". They may win a battle here or there but we will always win. New
ruttinbuc
I awoke to the TV left on after coming home from the third shift. I kept thinking it was a dream until I realized it wasn't. A rude awakening to the hate in the world. No forgiveness here.
