Scope suggestion

I am looking to put some new glass on my Marlin 336. I had a cheap Simmons on it. I took it out this weekend to see if it is still on and it was all over the place.

Being that it is a 30/30 and would not shoot over 100 yards with it. Variable power is not needed, but might be a welcome addition so I can leave the binocs home.

I'm thinking a 2-7x32 or 40.

Any suggestions for a new scope?

Thanks in advance.

All my guns except one where Nikon glass. The first gun I hunted with and shot a deer with was my dad's win model 94 in 30/30. My brother used it after me. It had a Tasco Pronghorn 3-9x32 on it and still does. We've had no issues. Another is a Bushnell Banner. Anymore toward $100 and you should start looking at Redfield and then after that you'd be able to pick up a Nikon.

I saw the Bushnell XLT in 1.5-7x40 at Natchezz shooting supplies for like $139. I am considering that one. I would like to consider a Nikon but have not seen any below 200 and better.

I have a Redfield 3-9x50 new in box, but it is a bit big for the lever gun :). Gonna give Redfield another look. They Leupold after all.

Thanks guys.
