JimT
I picked up one tonight in 25/06. Anyone have one? Hope it shoots good. It is the first used gun I have bought. Paid $285.00 for it. They gave me $240.00 for my slug gun, which I had $280.00 into. Not bad I thought. I just had to throw in the $40.00. I like the 25/06 cartridge. I will be the only one around here toting one this fall for sure. No one I know around here has one. Should be fun. It is the series J with a 24" barrell. Rifeling looked good, and the stock is in good shape. Only a few very minor scratches in the blueing. I am not sure how old it is, but whoever had it seems to have taken good care of it. Will pick up a scope this summer and give her a whirl.... Hope it goes well....As I am kinda nervous about buying pretty much anything second hand. AJ
Re: Savage 110C Sweet! I have a Savage 110 in .25-06 myself. They are good guns and will work just fine for a deer. My buddy in Kalifornia uses his as a long range varmint gun. He uses his .223 until the squirrels are past 500 yards then he picks up his .25-06 and ruins their day. I don't hesitate to buy used guns if the price is right. Give them a good going over and see if they need work. If so that reduces the price farther. Worst case is the throat is in bad shape. That will be evident when you shoot it. If its too bad, you can get a new barrel.
dogdoc
Re: Savage 110C Jim--congrats on the new gun. I absolutely love my .25-06. I have tried several factory loads and have settled on the 120 grain core-lokts. They do some major damage. best of luck todd

JimT
Re: Savage 110C Glad to see the positive responses for sure. I actually had a hard time deciding on the Savage or a new Handi-Rifle in 7mm08. Walked around for a while with both before making up my mind. The Savage will be my daughters some day probably. I think she will be more happy with it... Ten years until she turns 16, old enough to hunt alone. Ten years I get to use it. My 30-06 is in storage until then.
