Dunno about where you are, conditions and other factors? Here it has been dry and had been above average temps, but now crops are coming out and deer are moving around a bit more with more seasonal cooler temps, would expect activity to pick up at food plots. If I had any extra cams to go out right now they would likely be located either at known travel routes between beds and food plots or at scrapes. Posted it well and don't hunt it yourself either. that is if you've got the land. Hopefully, when pressure kicks in the deer will run to it and be safe from the orange army. What we did was to form a chapter of the Quality Deer Management Association. We have had seminars and speakers come in and we have had quite a few cooperatives formed. State or County land is open to everyone. If the taker shoots a legal deer we can't put them down too hard. It might be the first deer they ever shot. Maybe a youth first time hunter. And, yes, the guy who wants to kill more deer than his buddy. We have put the options on the table and have seen a decrease of take in younger bucks. The pride level has risen quite a bit around our area. Our whole attitude is education instead of legislation. It seems to be working. You are always going to get the hogs. Unfortunately we can't do anything about that. At the very least get your neighbors on board. Post your lands and allow only those that agree to your terms to hunt there. Catch someone trespassing, prosecute them! If you allow someone in to hunt and they don't follow your rules, toss them out.
