Turkeygirl Posted March 6, 2005 Report Share Posted March 6, 2005 But it was a good one. Instead of moping around, I got on with it and decided to go with Andy ice fishing. We went to this small man-made lake on some state land about 15 minutes away. Set up 10 tip-ups then we each had 2 poles. I caught a brown trout on a tip-up, then some guy gave us his,lol! Then I missed one. Then this is the great part,lol! I'm sitting in a chair, jigging my pole, Andy is off checking the minnows on the tip-ups when I here a clank behind me. I look and there is Andy's one pole almost all the way down the hole except for the end of the rod poking up! Whoa! I jumped up and ran over and started reeling something in. It took forver as it would take alot of line out, I knew it was good size. Andy comes over and is waiting to see what it is when he says "It's a big Brook trout! Be careful!" Well with Andy's help, I brought in a 16 inch female Brook Trout which is now on the grill! Yes I got a photo and I'll get it posted! It was more than likely a stocked fish some time in the past but who cares!? And to think if I didn't do what you guys said.."Get on with it", we wouldn't have fish for dinner,lol!
