hoosierhunter
This is from a new property I picked up this season. I think he's mature given his roman nose, deep chest and skin on the front of his chest. He might gross 125 inches. I'd really like to get some more pics of him to help out though. What do you all think his score and age is? It's always nice to get an outside opinion as I tend of overestimate my own deer.
wtnhunt
What do you all think his score and age is? Hard to say from that single pic on age or a score. I like to see the back end of the body when aging to see the shape. That said I would guess he is probably no less than a 3.5 year old based on what I can see. Antlers, looks like really good mass to me, but we do not typically have great mass on the deer around here, so he may just be good where you are. Decent tine length and good beam length, he should make the mid 120's.
Ethan Givan
I would agree with the mid 120s, and I dont see how he could be less than 3.
layin on the smackdown
Looks like a good deer...and good call on the deep chest. Also looks like a pretty good neck for this time of year. He has got to be at least 3.5, possibly 4.5, but its hard to tell without the rest of his body in the pic. In terms of his rack, i think you all may have underscored him, but again, i think its really hard to tell from a side view because you cant get a perspective on his width. His mass looks good, and tine length is good, his left brow (is that his left brow, or his right???) looks pretty impressive, and for a main frame 8 with a 9th point, im gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and go with 135 - 140...Its a "the glass is half full" guess coupled with the hypethetical inside spread of 18 inches....Its just really hard for me to fathom a 4.5 (if he is 4.5) year old main frame 8 from the heartland scoring less than 135-140...if he's 3.5, then in a year he will be one heck of a deer. Keep us posted if you get any other pics. dan Edited September 19, 2011 by layin on the smackdown
hoosierhunter
Yeah he might be a bit bigger. I just filmed my buddy killing a 152 inch 9 in urban and seeing that buck makes me think this guy might be a little bigger. We will see from the pull this week. Rhino
I think he's bigger than you 1st thought too Pat. The elevated angle seems to make his right side tines shorter than they probably are. His brow tines sure look like they're above average too. I think he'll make 130 with a little room to spare. I also think he's mature from the same observations you stated. Sure would be nice to see more of his body though.

hoosierhunter
GRRRRRRR for some reason my cuddeback showed a bunch of pictures, but it didn't take on the card! That's slightly frustrating.
Rhino
Did you try downloading the internal memory in the camera? I know it's small but there may be some pics in it.

hoosierhunter
I guess the cudde only accepts up to a 2gb card. I used my 4 gb card and that's what happened.....

A friend of mine did the same thing buying 2 4gb cards for his Cudde. That's all he could find & didn't know better. I traded him a couple of 2gb cards for them since my RC60 ran them...good trade!
