Guest deldeer
think im going to move up to a 300gr. bullet in my omega, ( just to try them ). however, i was reading that they may not be that accurate because of the rate of twist in the omega. has anyone used a 300gr. bullet, & what kind of performance did you get????.....thanks for the feedback.... tedicast
Re: 300 gr. bullets Your Omega should have no problem with 300 grain bullets. Just remember, most guns have a favorite load, and the 300grain bullet may not be the best load in your ml'er. I would buy a handfull of different bullets, and weights, and spend some range time. On the otherhand, it just may love the 300's. Only way to know for sure is to give it a try.
AJ
Re: 300 gr. bullets Your Omega is just fine for 300 gr bullets. Whether it likes them is another story. It has a 1 in 28" twist which is fine for just about anything you can get for a ML.
too_pointer
Re: 300 gr. bullets I have shot 348 grn. p.b.'s in my Encore with pretty decent accuracy. A friend has used the same in his Omega and was happy with the larger bullet. too_

too_pointer
Re: 300 gr. bullets Omega's will handle up to 150 grns. of powder,( not if using 777 lose ) this doesn't mean that your gun will be the most accurate with the heavy loads though, only practice will tell you for sure. Are you using pryrodex or 777, also lose or pellets ? too_pointer

too_pointer
Re: 300 gr. bullets I think you should call Thompson Center and ask a few questions. Someone in customer service should be able to answer some of this. I know the companies always stay on the "safe" side with their remarks, but it might help some. too_pointer
