redbeard
Re: Had a sweet little spot but ..... I've heard that excuse before from a farmer. They forget it was us hunters that restored the wild turkey via our license fees and NWTF contributions.

VtBowhunter
Re: Had a sweet little spot but ..... That happens a lot around here and it's even gotten to the point that some guys call me and wanna know if I can put them on some birds because they lost access to thier hunting land due to land sales and other things. I'm seriously thinking about starting a guide service for turkeys. Last year was a great year for us with the birds and this year promises to be even better. Covehnter
Re: Had a sweet little spot but ..... I've heard them all i think . . . . "its just a preserve", "we like to watch them", "no", and my favorite "witches justed that place way back and have holes and stuff in there, so we dont let anyone on the land b/c we're afraid they'll fall in the holes". . . . ole fella gave me that one time. Guest 257Roberts
Re: Had a sweet little spot but ..... Most common i've heard is "we like to watch em" and "everybody in the country has asked me to hunt them" Normally you get these on places with a big field right next to the road where everyone can see the turkeys strutting out there. Litterally everyone and there momma askes them to hunt there. I like to look at an area photo and find hidden fields back off the road that no one knows about and ask permission to hunt them. Chances are fewer people have asked to hunt them.
