ruttinbuc
I cannot handle this hot and muggy weather. I got up to go this morning, but one step into the humidity sent me back in. Better than burning out my spots and sitting there stinking up the place. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? I know you can't shoot them from the couch....but! jbeck
just do what I do, take a shower in scent free soap, use scent free deoderant. put on the scent lock suit, spray you self down with OFF bug repellant, light a Swisher Sweet Cigar and hunt the wind. LOL I'm with you I will wait, it's supposed to cool down to 60 for saturday.
Tominator
I feel the same way sometimes Mike. Last night in fact. I had some grading to do and grass to mow after my son's game yesterday, but walking from the barn to the house, it was just too humid for my liking--decided to eat dinner with the family and watch some football. wtnhunt
I hear ya Mike. Saturday morning here was ok with the 50's, Sunday morning was a bit warmer, Sunday afternoon was warm and humid, we were actually under a tornado watch. Did not see a single deer Saturday or Sunday mornings. Think it was 84 when I walked out Sunday afternoon, got a little sweaty by the time I got back to the stand. Wouldn't you know that the deer were on their feet and moving well Sunday afternoon when weather was not great. Too bad the wind shifted on me, or maybe given the torrential downpour that came up on us a few minutes after I got down maybe it was a good thing I got busted and got down because it would have been impossible to track anything had I shot a deer. Still cannot help but wonder what was coming up in the woods to the corner. I probably should not have gone. Things will get better.
RangerClay
I'm kinda bummed as well. Tomorrow is our opener and its supposed to be 80 degrees with rain. I will probably pass for a day or two.
rhine16
Supposed to have lows in the mid 40s and highs in mid 70s for our opener Saturday, about as good as you can ask for here in MS. I know the feeling on the humid days though Mike, some days I'll hunt through it, some days I won't.

Saw that...this may be the coolest opener we've ever had. Normally it's 65 to 70 at dawn with highs from 80 to 90 in the afternoon. Hot muggy hunting days are the norm here so we have to deal with it or not hunt. I usually have sweat dripping from my nose by the time I'm in the stand in the afternoon...some mornings too! By the time November rolls around I get real anxious to go enjoy the cool air bowhunting in the midwest.
Jeramie
Typically I have that problem in Oklahoma. I use to hold my breath waiting for the opener but the older I got the less I was willing to fight the bugs and heat. However, we so far are having a fairly cool fall (To make up for the insane summer we suffered). This morning it was 42.5 at the house! By dark its already dropped into the 60's. This weekend we are looking at high 40's to low 50's for the low! Season starts Saturday. I cant get out until Sunday but I will very likely be out there! dbHunterNY
i still because you never know, but our season isn't until mid october. it's usually not bad at all. i try to stay out of the sun, and i'll wear medalist mesh summer chuck hunting camo too. this is in addition to all the regular scent control stuff like spraying down, washing, etc.
