LETMGROW
My Grandson won the same gun at our QDMA banquet. We bore sighted it and took it out and shot it. I am impressed! At the 100 yd. line, he is putting shots into a 1- 1/2' Bull with consistensy. Handles well and carries well also. We were shooting 100 gr. powder with Winchester Partition Gold 260 gr. bullets ( sabots ), and Fusion primers.
Dakota
Very nice, Richard! I've always been a CVA guy. Got a .50 Mountain Stalker myself. Are you shooting sabots or conicals? TC makes what I consider to be the best conical on the market in their Maxi Ball 370 gr. lubricated conicals. Boy, that'll put a good-sized hole in a deer! If you haven't checked that out yet, you should. They're a lot easier to load than a sabot. Dakota
SourthenILdeerhunter
i just plan on using sabots but ill look into conicals

High Country
I shoot a CVA Beartooth Magnum...aka CVA Wolf...aka Optima (with different stock designs)...developed several loads that I really liked... 110 grains Pyrodex RS with a TC 350 grain L-HP conical = DRT (massive holes through both shoulders) at 100 yards or less...heavy recoil Fort Knox Maximum Loads 100 grains Pyrodex RS with a TC 250 grain Shockwave = 1 - 1.5 inch group at 100 yards (best accuracy I have found)...deadly on deer (less than 20 yard trails)...BUT hard to load...need to try the superglide sabots 100 grains Pyrodex RS with a 245 grain Powerbelt = 2-3 inch group...good performance on deer, especially with shoulder shots (I think the lead powerbelt might be more effective on deer than the copper or platinum)...easy to load similar results with Triple 7 pellets... LETMGROW
UPDATE: My grandson shot his first deer Sunday with his new CVA. 88 yards, shaking like a leaf in a hurricane, aimed and hit exactly where he aimed. There is a pic. on my post in the Hunting equip. room- Tower Blind Finished. You have to click onto another site but the directions are there.
