silvertip_co
I was just wondering how the group feels about the litigious US Outfitters in NM suing for their share of non-resident hunting licenses in AZ and Federal courts? It seems for now the highly leftist 9th Circuit has sided with USO... but the western states are countering by passing laws to assure their self determination in the use of wildlife resources and the allocation of hunting licenses and the ratio of resident to non-resident licenses. I hope the states win this one so each western state can manage its own resources as they see fit. http://www.casperstartribune.net/article...fb900651e8f.txt
OJR
Re: US Outfitters- their lawsuit vs states rights I hope the states win also. It would be great if the fed's stepped in passed something that would take the bite out of the 9th circuit! All the USO is doing is to try and make more money at the states expense! Everyone should dump USO!!
Rhino
Re: US Outfitters- their lawsuit vs states rights First, welcome to the forum silvertip. I also hope the states win this suit too. Not so each western state can manage their own resources but every state. If USO wins here, it just opens up a whole new can of worms all across the country. pa_sportsman
Re: US Outfitters- their lawsuit vs states rights I don't know much about the lawsuit, but would prefer that each state have the ability to manage its resources.
horst
Re: US Outfitters- their lawsuit vs states rights I also think the states should have the right to control thier own wildlife.Where this becomes an issue in the western states is because of the large amounts of federal land.Everyones paying for it but the residents of the states where this land is are the ones benifiting the most from it.I have no problem with it being that way, the lawsuit didnt have anything to do with the non residents being treated unfairly, the more NR tags available the more $$$ these outfitters can make each year.It all boiled down to money and thats not a very good excuse to take control away from the states IMO

[/ QUOTE ] Same here. Think in most cases states are better able to deal with their own wildlife issues.
