Not sure if you live in the Oct. 1 NY opener area? yea i hunt in region 4, so i'm able to hunt Oct 1st. However, I've been really busy and haven't gotten time to get out. I was cutting firewood and trimming up around a stand in the same area this past weekend on my parent's farm. Before I left i thought about bringing a gun with me, but elected to leave it home. Well along the way to that section of woods i drove right by the flock i've been watching that was just at the edge of a field i passed. lol i suppose they're safe... for now. ...i should add that a few nice longbeards were a part of that flock too.
