Jeramie
Ive been suffering from allergies in a bad way for the last few years. They didn’t really use to bother me but have been brutal. Then about a year ago I noticed my hearing got much, much worse. I’m 35 so I attributed it to age. My doctor has taken several looks at me and just kept me on allergy meds. Nothing really helped much. Beating headaches, stuffy, and eventually ear infections. Yesterday I went in earlier than normal because the cycle is starting all over again. Some diagnosis until I mentioned my hearing had really dropped. He took a deeper look in my ear. Come to find out the Eustachian tube is blocked and has been for some time. It is pinning the ear drum down! I got 4 shots total yesterday (to relevant to the problem). I’m on steroids, antibiotics, Flonase, and Sudafed for the next 4 weeks. If that doesn’t break it up i have to talk to a Nose-Throat-Ear specialist about surgery. Regardless, they can stop the pressure in my head and I will likely regain some hearing! I’ve learned to live with it over the past few years and its only bad during allergy season so I’ve just been waving it off. My doctor was optimistic I would see a big difference once resolved! Its nice when they can fix a problem you didn’t know you had...

wtnhunt
Been told my hearing problem is selective. lol. Really honestly surprised my hearing is not worse than it is, factory work and years of work with loud air tools from early age. Hope those treatments work for you without the need for surgery. redkneck
Good news Jeramie. William i personally think air is about the worst thing on hearing. Almost unbearable to hear a blow off and the reason i have constant ringing i would imagine
c_lou
I have the same problem as William, selective hearing. I hear just fine, just don't hear everything.
stevebeilgard
i used to shoot a minimum of 500 rounds a week in the service. of course, no hearing protection. my loss is real..... age 35 is not old. you'll not really notice changes until 50 plus. but, in any case, i'm glad your hearing is going to be so easy to fix.
