The first picture is of a little buck last year. The next picture is of the same buck this year. It's amazing how much growth he put on. dbHunterNY Posted October 17, 2011 Report Share Posted October 17, 2011 assuming that's the same deer, that'd be a typical jump from 1-1/2 years old to 2-1/2 years old around here. you're doing good though passing such young deer. keep it up. you want a good age structure and better buck to doe ratio for a number of reasons. one big one though is mostly stronger bucks better able to survive will breed and pass on genetics, opposed to runts that find one of many hot unattended does.
