Shaun_300
Just wanted to give a little review of this new GM product. Finally GM has ditched the Korean built Aveo/Wave cars and took on a compact car of their own, the Chevy Sonic. I did my first PDI on the new Sonic today and I must say, I was quite impressed! The interior is awesome for an economy car, rides nice, pretty peppy compared to the Aveo. The one I drove was a 1.8L Ecotec with the 6-speed automatic, those 2 extra gears make a big difference in a small car like that. Same transmission and engine combo that's in the Cruze. You can also get the 1.4L Turbo Ecotec with a 6-speed manual transmission, that'd be my personal choice if I bought one. The gauge cluster is really cool, analog tach and the rest is digital. It's also equipped with XM radio from factory and remote start. The one I drove was an LT which had a sunroof as well, it was rated at 51mpg highway, not sure if that's Canadian gallons or US gallons, either way, awesome on fuel. I think the 1.4 Turbo/manual transmission models are rated at 60mpg. Also lots of space compared to the Aveo, me being 6'4" I had no problem with leg room or head room even with the sunroof, which usually takes 2 inches of headroom away. All in all, cool looking little car. Here's a few more pics of them. Shaun_300
Base model LT was $16 or $17K, Not sure what the LS models are. The one I drove was $22K. Remember though prices up here are a lot more than what you guys pay in the US. Base model Silverado 4x4 is like $33K with rubber floors and no options.
