Flintlock1776
Early bow season opened, I dropped a doe on opening afternoon, a Saturday. You have to take a doe before you can go for a buck here. I donated it to Hunters Feeding the Hungry program. 8 days later this little velvet 8 pointer showed up in the afternoon. He never improved his rack since last year so I took him. I also donated him to Hunter Feeding the Hungry Program. I have to wait for the end of October for the next season and that should be the time of the rut here. I hope to see the really big boys from last year that I saw but could not get a clear shot at. Then I will go to Alabama in January for the rut there to round out my season.
AceArcher
How about a '11 - '12 success thread as sticky. If I missed it I apologize but don't see thread for this season.

Gator
So far this has been a better year than all of last year. I am hunting public land 15min from home, and so far after 6 sits in a stand, I have seen 17 deer, two I know were bucks. I didn't see my first deer last year until almost gun season. Missed a doe opening day, just missjudged distance, and rushed the shot. This past Sat I did tag a doe, she was the leader of three that came out behind me and walked down the fenceline I'm on. Sorry, but the pic I took turned out crappy.

fly
Got this old dried up doe early this season! The exit wound is pictured - the entry was back an inch - got one lung and liver. The exit was way back. She only went 50 yards and was dead within a few minutes. Love it when you can see them down from the tree-stand. Straight Shooter
Here are a couple of Doe's I killed on my first trip to Ohio on the 1st of October. The bigger Doe's weighed 142 lbs. and the other was 75 lbs., deer sightings were very slim and only saw one buck. It was the October lull up there, the two others that went with me didn't get an opportunity to kill. [/img]
MNHunter
Got this buck September 22nd. My 4th night on stand. He came out 50 yards across the field from me. He saw a small buck decoy I had out to my 11 o'clock at 20 yards. He looked at it for quite some time stomping at it and just not sure what to think. Finally he calmed down and started walking to my right, angling away from me. The little buck must have gotten under his skin. He circled back towards it and came across in front of me right at 27 yards. He stopped and I made the shot. He went 150 yards and piled up. He is my biggest bow kill in five years of bow hunting.
