9 point goes downI have been bow hunting for only 3 seasons so far. This to date is the biggest Buck I have killed so far with my bow. A 9 point that scored 119 6/8 and it won the Local Archery contest here in October 2011. I know it is no Monster but the drought conditions here made it a hard year. Me and one other Hunter turned one in to be scored. His ended up being disqulified because he entered the contest after he shot it. I won a new Hoyt Vector all rigged out. It is a sweet shooting bow. It was a evening hunt and I got to the stand late at about 5:00 Pm. I did not see anything until this 9 point showed up by himself. He came in from my left about 40 yards out behind some trees. He made a circle out in front of me and in the woods where I could not shoot. He then came out on the right side of me about 30 yards out. He moved into a shooting lane aat about 26 yards away and I drew back, put the 20 yard pin on him and let it fly! I was 30 feet up in a climber so adjusted for that. It hit a limb and delflected. My heart sank as I seen the arrow hit him in the upper hind quarter. He went crashing through the woods but never heard him go down. I waited and shook for about 45 minutes before getting down and going to where I hit him. Found the arrow (What was left of it) and BLOOD everywhere. My heart started racing again. I tracked him for about 10 yards and the blood just keep getting better. I then shined my light out into the woods and there he laid white belly shining 20 yards away. He had not gone 30 yards from where I shot him. After getting to him and seeing where I hit him it had severed the arteries. Mine was I pumped and excited. I am still fired up. Sense then I have tagged out with my bow this year here in Texas. 2 does and 2 Bucks all in October. Was a Short But Sweet season for me!

Rage.

First deer of 2012 down. Big ole mature lead doe. I guessed her at 4.5years old and maybe 125lbs. She walked out with another old doe at 5:36pm. They grazed behind me, I ranged her at 42 yards. Shooting a Hoyt Vector 32, 68#, 29" draw, GT arrows and Rage 2-Blade Chisel tip. I let one fly confidently. I smacked her right shoulder square. I broke her opposing shoulder. Heart shot. She ran 20 yards and went head first into a hedge tree that was forked at the base. She hit it so hard she did a front flip and snapped her neck below the jaw. Craziest thing I've seen. She sure made it a lot harder than just dragging her out.
