gobblerroller
Not a whole lot of symmetry on this deer, and bad brow tines.Does this deer need to be culled out or should we give him some time? Really trying to improve the genetics around here. The two black and white pics were accidental but I can't figure out how to delete them. wtnhunt
Maybe only a 2.5 year old deer there.
dbHunterNY
i'm with william that deer is still a young deer. just look at how long his legs look in relation to his stature. it's in my opinion that a cull deer isn't a cull deer until it reaches at least 4.5 yrs old and you see poor antler characteristics. maybe if you figure it's 3.5 and just has main beams then fine, but almost all the time a buck should have some age under him to determine what kind of potential he has not got. think of it this way some kids are runts at a young age and have their growth spirt later. then suddenly they're 6' or taller. ....that's what i think based on what i've read and my own thoughts. RangerClay
Maybe only a 2.5 year old deer there. I'll second that motion.
fladawg
I wood give him another year or two....Unless you've got a first timer or youth to let take it...
MichiganHunter
he looks like a super nice 2.5 year old. Would be a good idea to let him make it one more year.
gobblerroller
We'll fatten him up with some corn this year and pass until we know what he looks like next season. Only way he'll get shot is if he comes out on my little brother. He's trying to get his first deer.
aujack
He looks pretty symmetrical to me! I'd say he is just a young deer. In the county I hunt in GA if we shot every deer with bad brow tine genetics there wouldn't be a buck left in the county. For whatever reason none of our deer have good brows. I think this guy will be a good buck in a year or two!
hoosierhunter
That's a young deer and if Georgia is the home that deer should be completely off limits if your hunting mature deer.
Rhino
I agree...2.5 year old...could be a nice one in a couple of years.
seamus
definitely a very nice prospect there, right around 2 1/2.
