wtnhunt
Been meaning to share this one for a while and just not gotten around to it. We had seen a commercial for pork "the other white meat" using hidden valley ranch powder and so I picked up a bottle of the stuff at sams club with the intentions of trying it with deer steaks since our kids really like ranch dressing. Ended up using approximately 1/4-1/2 cup of olive oil and probably 1 1/2-2 tablespoons of the powder to make a marinade for the steaks, can adjust more or less depending on how much steak you are doing and to your own taste. Let the steaks marinade a few hours or better yet overnight. Can grill or cook on a griddle on the range over med high heat. Cook until just browned on both sides, or longer if you like more done steaks. Cut our steaks pretty thin, so it takes no time for them to be right. Turned out to be a new favorite for the kids, have also done this with antelope steaks and with mule deer steaks. Accidentally used tenderloin once too, turned out so tender it was able to be cut with a fork.
