Ok how is this for making you scream like a little girl...4th of July weekend this year, had my ATV up the property all weekend, throwing a trap over it every night...well show up on the 4th to mow plots and remove the tarp, hop on and go to grab the handlebars and fire her up...

I cleared the bike by a good 8' on initial jump...and had the ebie gebies for a good 20 minutes.

I laugh because I've been there. I've had the ol' owl thing too. The scary part isn't seeing them, it is hearing a mini freight train coming and not knowing where it is coming from or what it is, then the embarrassment of realizing you had no control over what came out of your mouth and then looking around to see if anyone saw!! Good stuff.

My favorite was a post two years ago (happened to me too), but someone posted that they could hear something following them (coyote or a wolf), so they started running and it was right behind him, so he took off in a sprint until he got to his car and realized it was his rope and drag-rag he tied to his belt loop. LOL. Happened to me too, I'll admit it.

That's happened to me, but it was the rope that you use to attach the top of your stand to the bottom of your stand while you're climbing. :D Although, it didn't freak me out as much as the person you're talking about.

Actually had a squirrel run across me when I was about 14. He was climbing up the tree in circles like they do going about 100MPH and zoomed right around my stomach. I don't think he ever had a clue.

I had a trio of coyotes come in one me when I was about 18 hunting a food plot and trailed me right to me tree following my trail from where they crossed my path in the plot. I don't know why, but it kinda freaked me out.

I have had several deer spook as I walk in or out and make me jumped when they snort or take off. I don't care who ya are....when it's pitch black and something takes off crashing through the woods and you can't see it, it makes your hair stand up.

I just read your post and replys again.

It made me remember a time when I was about 13 years old and was walking along the road by my grandpa's farm. We had had a lot of rain for a few days prior so there were big mud puddles everywhere. So I'm just tooling along and all of a sudden BRRRRR! A grouse must have been in the weeds right beside the road and took off into the woods in a big, noisy hurry. It scared me so bad that I instantly started running - anywhere - nowhere - and slipped in the mud and fell flat on my back in about a 2" deep mud puddle. When I got back Grandpa asked me why I was soaking wet but I just told him I had slipped and fell in a mud puddle. I didn't have the heart to tell him I had barely survived an encounter with a deadly ruffed grouse.

HA! Those things sounds like Apache Helo's when they take off.. I had a grouse almost land on me when I was about 14, bowhunting. I almost needed a new pair of underwear afterwards!

My worst scare wont be as comical as some but here goes..... while elk hunting in northern wyoming years ago, my buddy and i desided to do some scouting, since we havent seen much for elk sign, i came across some grizzley tracks and got this " brilliant" idea to follow them.... i dont know how long i trailed this bear, seemed like several hundred yards to me, but after a bit my tracks following him turned into his tracks following me....the hair on the back of my neck stood at full attention and i made my way " swiftly" back to where the truck was....when my buddy got back he asked what i seen, i said ....nothing lets go....lol
