The last picture is him in velvet. I'm thinking he broke this horn off in early stages of velvet and the end result is how it turned out. What do you think?Appears to be a older deer with the sway back and blocky chest but I'm thinking of letting him walk to hopefully let the horn grow back right next year.Think he is to old of a deer and that he will be going down hill or what? Thanks in advance.

Mature deer for sure.

Dunno about letting him walk, if he will show the injury next year or not or whether he will be better, about the same, or worse would be hard to say. Suppose if I had enough ground that I knew he would make it and I actually saw him and got a real good look at his body and decided at that time he was not more than 5.5 I would probably let him walk. Good luck with whichever you decide.
