pruts
Urgh. Went out this morning for a couple of hours and had this little buck at 25 yards and missed (would have been my first deer). My stand is in a tree directly broadside on the opposite side of the deer just above the frame. The pic where he's drinking is about the moment that I shot. Sorry not a very good view of his antlers. Wish I could come up with some reason I missed other than that I flinched, but I can't. I just suck. I think the colour pic from a week ago is the same deer? Yes/no? You can just see the stand in this picture. Centered at the very top. I have a red strap holding it to the tree. Going to try and sit again tomorrow. ChrisSeb53
just repeat to yourself in your head to "squeeze the trigger" while you hold on your spot... it helps me from jerking the trigger... also, count to three before you squeeze... and after your shot before letting your bow down... it helps with your follow through (do it while practicing as well)
pruts
I'm not being too hard on my self, I know everyone has done it. Just a little frustrating is all. Plus hunting is a hobby and I think if you don't enjoy your leisure activities it's time to find a new one. Even the worst day hunting is better than the best day working. just repeat to yourself in your head to "squeeze the trigger" while you hold on your spot... it helps me from jerking the trigger... also, count to three before you squeeze... and after your shot before letting your bow down... it helps with your follow through (do it while practicing as well) Good tip Chris. I'll try it. Thanks
