Tominator Posted October 24, 2011 Report Share Posted October 24, 2011 Got out last night and sat in my stand. Nice night, I just had to get out, even if it was only for an hour. Nothing really to report other than the fact that something ate the 3 apples I set out there, but whatever it was left the leftover sweetcorn. 20 minutes into the sit, I glassed the treeline and saw a buck. He was only a forky, but his rack went almost straight up, real long beams. He looked more like a pronghorn than whitetail. Got our youth hunt this weekend then ml'er opens the following week. Saturday was a fun morning here for movement, posted about it in my blog. About to get right here. I can only put them at your feet so many times. j/k--yeah, I think there's still a few around. I saw one walking with a hen back in August, so I'm hoping they had a clutch. I saw one across the road just the other day. They kind of go silent this time of year. Sometimes you'll hear them as they fly off to roost, but I haven't heard that lately.
