Saw a 150 to 160 class lastnight chasen a doe across a picked bean field at about 3:30pm. I feel like a lil kid at Christmas :clown:
MUDRUNNER
Glad your seeing some movement! Things are dead around here. me and a couple buddies logged about 35 hours on stand over the weekend and none of us even seen a deer. Afternoons temps here have been awefull the last few days. We're seeing a lot of fresh scrapes, but their all being hit at night.

ruttinbuc
It is time. The new moon usually kicks things off. Something to do with the lack of light along with the shorter days. Different areas have different activity. Just up the road can be a lot different than where you are. I have not been seeing much chasing, but have witnessed some bucks cruising. All we really need here is the temperature to get to where it needs to be consistently for the bucks to be active during the day. Really weird to be getting bit by mosquitoes and listening to cicadas at the end of October.
dbHunterNY
haven't seen much activity related to any phases of the rut yet. to hunt in illinois.... not many midwest sized bucks out here. i've yet to see a buck over 100" this season. sounds like good news though. good luck!
