Busted a Doe

Broke in the new Remington 700 last night. Put up a new stand and did some mowing, and got in the stand at around 5 PM. No action until late because of the high winds. At 10 minutes before dark, this doe and two yearlings came out to feed on the acorns and walked up the mowed streak to check out what I had done with the mower. I though she would never turned broadside, and finally took a quartering towards shot at 25 yards. She ran off back the way she came and looked around. The tail started flickering and she fell over. My grandaddy had killed an 8 point that I had already passed up before the same morning. Happy to refill the freezer with sausage! :D
