Hunting a clear-cut?

Our family owns a 50 acre tract of land in Ware County that has just been cut. 16 acres cleared on the hill and 34 of young pines that have been thinned on both sides of the hill. The little pines have a creek running through them. The deer used to cross the hill to get from one bedding area to the other. Should I hunt oaks that are at the back of the property next to the clearcut, or hunt in the creek in the thinned pines?
