Ok , this is my first post not very good at this the whole internet computer thing so bare with me. I hunt about 100 acres of family land in alabama. Got a good pic of a very good 8 point on my game cam. Problem is, its the only shooter buck that has been caught on camera. Got several does and younger bucks ,but not shooter bucks. . . . . . So my question is , should I try to take the good eight or would pay off to let him spread his genetics this year and hopefully have some trophy bucks to hunt in a few years? And when I say younger bucks I mean a few spikes and several knot heads. Nothin that wouldn't take a couple to three years to mature. Thanks for any advice. Also I would post the deer pic but ain't figured out how yet.

First off...Welcome aboard!

I'd say it's your call. Usually a trail cam pic doesn't do a good buck justice. If you have the opportunity you'll need to decide if he's what YOU want.

I run a lot of trail cams and I still see and have killed bucks that never steped in front of a cam. That's just the way it is. Since you're in Alabama, it's still probably pre-rut. If I were you I'd set my cams on different scrapes. Multiple bucks will visit the same scrape and you just might discover you have more than that 8 point hanging around.
