PotashRLS
I saw the most buck activity during the last two weeks of October and the first week of November. I think they have been locked down for a while now as I saw the most intense chasing around Halloween. The toughest pill to swallow is that the higher your deer density, particularly antlerless, the more watered down your rut will be. I saw 20 deer last afternoon in the 15ac. secluded alfalfa field I hunt. Three were scrub bucks and the rest does/fawns. Not a 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 yr. old buck to be found. The scrubs ate along side the does just like it was September. Not chasing, no nothing. I thinks most have gone through their first estrus cycle already with many not having enough bucks to breed them.
Jorden
From what I read, peak breeding is suppose to occur sometime within the next 7-10 days. Problem is, weather has been relatively mild. The only time I noticed an increase in activity was last week after that snow storm. It seemed like bucks were on their feet a bit this weekend but I have not seen any chasing. With the warmer temps and the moon, Im guessing there has been a lot of night time activity
c_lou
I was driving home from a meeting last night and noticed a ton of deer out in the fields running around. I did see a couple nice bucks out dogging does. I think with the warmer daytime temps, all the activity is happening at night.

PotashRLS
I noticed the same thing. Saw quite a few bucks out and about That is why I think the peak is past and the first estrus is done. They are out cruising looking for straglers and will eventually find them after 28 days +/-. I have seen bucks moving or bucks with does every night on my way home this week. Hopefully with that weather moving in tomorrow afternoon, tomorrow morning will be great
