redbeard
Just like 'ol Deets in Lonesome Dove, I ain't one to give up on a garment. Shown below is a vintage 1988 Gobbler's Elite vest, customized year after year. Don't care what Primos says about thier new vest, it ain't coming close to the carrying capacity of dis 'un' . Plus it's got the seat that requires no set up time, just squat. It's a good movement tool too, as when I hear it bumpin' the backs of my legs, it's time to slow down. It'll be it's 18th year with me, come spring. Here's what she's starting off with....... 18 strikers 1 Neil Cost box call 1 Mike Battey Killer Slate call 1 Primos Heritage Slate 1 Roger Lathem slate 1 Lynch Jet Black slate 1 Primos Ol' Glory 1 Knight and Hale Pocket Puppy slate 1 Tim Oldham Glass slate 1 Tim Oldham Slate over Slate 1 JJ Tom coconut slate 1 Redbeard's Calls Turtle&Turkeys Slate over glass 1 Starks Ambrosia Squirrel Call 1 Lohman Crow Call 1 Lohman Owl Hooter 1 Primos Hawk Screamer 1 Busnell 8x21 binoculars 1 Primos gloves 1 Quaker boy 3/4 bandit mask 1 compass 1 chalks, sandpaper 1 tube of 3M scritter dope 1 GPS 1 wing in back 1 water bottle in back Calls will come and go as the season progress but for some unknown reason I feel compelled to pack that sucker to the brim at the start of the season. Love that pillow too! Completely original with 18 years of turkey blood and barbed wire cuts. Sleeps good up agin an ol oak!

maytom
Re: Vest is all packed............... I have to run through my vest soon myself. I agree on the Mossy Oak Elite 20-pocket vest, talk about having all your stuff in it's place. Our season starts May 1st here in NY, so there's time to sort everything out before then. Just got back from Gander Mountain, and I picked up three strikers and a Carry-Lite hen decoy in the feeding position.

Someday, when I get to dang old to tote all this stuff, it'll be just that and a slate. I figure for now, it's good exercise for this 'puter button pushin' fatboy. Plus, I like to mess with my calls when nuthin' is happenin'

Rhino
Re: Vest is all packed............... Thanks redbeard now I don't feel bad at all. Have you weighed it yet? I always catch some flack about the stuff I carry and the weight of my vest. By the way I still have one of those gobbler elite vest hanging in my hunting gear closet. Only problem is it won't button in the front anymore. Shrunk over time I guess.

Yep, here's a vintage 1988 Primos short billed turkey hat. Been tore, burnt up over a lantern, lost in a 100 acre Alabama field during a 60 mile an hour wind (I walked an hour to retrieve that sucker, as it bounced around in the wind ) She's been patched, sewn up and re-sewed up. I told Primos they oughta make a new short bill hat and all they come up with is those nice long bills. You can see faintly see the gobbler head that used to be Primos turkey logo.
