Tim Andrus
went out this afternoon for the last few hours. Our shotgun season here in Ny ends sunday nite followed by muzzleloader season. Well the snow was falling, pretty night , no cameraman proding me to do this or that ......just hunting . At 420pm a big body 7pt strolls in the field at 1st I thought let him go another year, he will be a definte shooter next year. Then I thought no... Im hunting, he's a great buck and will be great on the grill.. The CVA barked and he crumpled after 50 yd run. I was like a little kid all shook up walked up to him and thought this is why we do it!! The rush, the pretty snow falling and a great NY buck. Unfortunately I had no camera with me for pics, but thats ok Ill remember this night for along time. It was like the nicest night in a while getting back to the basics of hunting . I even took him the processor ( I usually butcher myself) but my daughter had her 1st home game as a varsity cheerleader and I made it in time , a very special day for me all in all.
