Expandable broadheads and a x-bow

Hey everyone. I shoot a #165 lb. TenPoint x-bow.

Has anyone had any experience shoot mechanicals

out of a x-bow ? I think I have heard, or read, about them opening up early due to the shock that a x-bow delivers to an arrow. I would sure love to use them if possible. I don't know much about them, just that some open up differently, and some have rubber bands or o-rings on them.

thanks smile.gif

Re: Expandable broad heads and a x-bow

I shoot a Browning 150# and have never had my mechanicals open prematurely.

I shoot 100 grn. Rock Mtn. Revolutions, which use the o-ring. I have never had to double up on the o-rings yet, with good results.

However, If shooting through the screen mesh on a blind, I use a 100 grn. Muzzy 4-blade. .....popgun

Mike...Pete had a motorcycle accident last fall right before archery season. He had to have 3 pins put into his left wrist (no bow hunting for him). He got a Xbow permit and bought a Xbow and started practicing. He used 100 gr. Rocky Mt. snypers and they seemed to perform very well for him. wink.gif

magna--it is a crossbow!

too_---I have read that when using expandables with small rubberbands to put two bands on the expandable to prevent premature opening!

Todds right on with that!!!

Its on the back of the package of broadheads that he and I both shoot.

It states that if shooting in excess of 250FPS you should use 2 rubberbands to prevent the broadhead from opening up early.

Any idea what FPS your X-Bow is getting???
