TBow
Back in late November and into December, my wife would continue to do her "BAH HUMBUG" impression every time I made mention of cutting a xmas tree and putting it up. She even stepped up the rhetoric this year with, "I don't even feel like putting a tree up this year! Let's not!" Then just within the last 5 days or so before christmas, I finally got the drive to put the tree up and spent 3 to 4 hours covering it from tip to trunk and from outer needles to inner bark with string after string of lights. It was SPECTACULAR!.....well at least in my humble opinion. Then the bride took 10 or 15 minutes to put a few ribbons, a handful of decorative balls and a cluster of fake poinsettia and rose flowers into its branches from top to bottom, whining all the time about how she really didn't want the tree up this year, citing that all of our family xmas festivities were to take place at our daughter's house. Well tonight I heard her mumble something about the tree, so I questioned her if she wanted me to take it down tonight. Her reply, "NO WAY! I want it up 'til at least this weekend coming". What was I thinking trying to anticipate just exactly the way a woman thinks! Silly Wabbit! When the day of reckoning for my xmas tree does roll around in 4 or 5 days, it will likely take me a couple hours to remove all of the lights and decorations, neatly pack them away for yet another year and extradite the conifer to outside. My brother-in-law on the other hand, who has been swayed to the dark side by using a (GULP) artificial and fake offering of what is supposed to represent a christmas tree, spends as little time to set it up as it does to put it away. It was decorated once many years ago and ever since the operation to reinstate it and remove it, involves merely removing it from the closet, lifting the gigantic plastic bag off of it to expose it, then resliding the gargantuous bag back over it a week later and popping it once again back into the deep and darkened recesses of a basement closet! WOA the family shame! TBow Edited January 3, 2012 by TBow

Jeramie
Ours needs to come down but we hung drywall and insulation all weekend on the addition. It will likely come down this weekend along with the Christmas lights on the house.
