BowJoe
Haven't been on here in a while and thought I'd post this little news clip. Interesting and appears that only one person had enough sense on this occasion. Castle Doctrine means no charges in bow-and-arrow killing

Strut10
This took place not too awfully far down the road from here. Thank you Gov. Corbett (a republican, by the way) for signing the Castle Doctrine bill that former Gov. Rendell (a democret, by the way) refused to sign. dbHunterNY
if a man showed up with a club at my door, after making threatening phone calls i'd greet him with a gun not my archery equipment. would do everything i could to not shoot him, but yea. i wonder what the circumstances were to possess that guy do that which got him killed. Jeramie
Oklahoma has the same laws and expanded on them a little. Good to see other states taking up the same initiative.
PotashRLS
My Dad always said that he'd rather get shot by a bullet than an arrow. I think I agree with him, especially a broadhead tipped arrow. The aggressor must not have taken him seriously. Poor decision on his part. :stretcher:
RangerClay
well of course.."where have we seen this before"..??? LMAO!!! Now that is funny right there! Edited January 3, 2012 by RangerClay
wtnhunt
The aggressor must not have taken him seriously. Poor decision on his part. :stretcher: Was kinda thinking the same thing, he must not have thought the guy would shoot him. if a man showed up with a club at my door, after making threatening phone calls i'd greet him with a gun not my archery equipment. would do everything i could to not shoot him, but yea. Same here. Self defense is self defense and if a man made threatening calls and showed up with a weapon at the door, would be prepared to deal with him accordingly. i wonder what the circumstances were to possess that guy do that which got him killed. He musta really liked the other man's wife. Shame for anyone to lose their life and for the husband to be put in that situation, but stupid gets people killed all the time. redkneck
Well, if somebody wants my wife I'll give them the bow if they take her and her bills (package deal). May even throw in an extra dozen arrows.
Adjam5
First responders get there pretty fast. That broadhead must have created some serious hemmorhagging(sp?). Come to a mans house...threaten him with bodily harm while having a weapon in your hand...What did he expect? The guy to put up a pot of coffee? Go Castle Doctrine ....go. hoosierhunter
The aggressor must not have taken him seriously. stevebeilgard
one of the funniest threads in a long while. i love it. my bow is in the garage, so i'd have to use one of the many guns. but, i can assure you the results would be similar. forget the ambulance and send the herse. Stinger-Hunter
Sometimes, a man's got to do what a man's got to do. Living in the urban jungle, that would definitely get me on the 5:30, 6:00, and 10:00 o'clock news. Too bad for batboy. Should have come prepared. WNY_Whitetailer
Wow...Once that guy pulled back his bow, what possessed the intruder to stick around? I guess we will never know...
