Turkeygirl
Wondering what kind of Binoculars you guys are using for 3D? When I shot at the league yesterday, I didn't use binos but I could see where they would be helpful:shifty: Thinking something that won't break the bank, small size, but decent. Any recommendations? dbHunterNY
Ruth I got small compact Nikon Sportster style binos and ended up taking them back. I got Nikon Monarch ATBs in 10x36. They work well, because if the focus knob isn't exactly in the right spot I can finish focusing with my eyes looking through them. Helps you see the scoring rings quicker and with less strain on your eyeballs. I can even see rings on re-faced targets from open class distances. they're compact and light enough I think. They weigh 20.3 oz and come with a wide strap so they're comfortable to wear on your bow arm side with your head and one arm through the strap. Some reviews have mentioned problems with the eyecups, but I haven't had any troubles at all. I use them all year round for target, hunting, and even work sometimes. You can pick them up for under $300 usually.
Turkeygirl
Found these, think they'd work?: Leupold Yosemite Series 6x30mm Porro Prism Binoculars, Black at Rogers Sporting Goods - Hunting, Fishing, Camping
johnf
I've only got one pair for hunting and 3d Nikon Monarch ATB. They are great and don't break the bank. Nikon Monarch 7515 Discontinued Items - Other Items I got mine off Archerytalk for $120.
dbHunterNY
those Leupolds seem like they're about right. I haven't looked through them so I can't give too much real input. I'd say they'd work given the 6x power is enough to pick out the scoring rings at 45 yards or so. That way you can check things out before you're up to shoot too. They're better than nothing. I'd say to find somewhere like Dick's Sporting Goods or a place where you can try them out.

Turkeygirl
Well went with the Leupold Yosemite 6 x 30...they had very good reviews and I found them for $79 - older model, which is what had the great reviews.
dbHunterNY
yea the Prostaff 7's are nice. little heavier and bigger. like i said the Leupold's will be good as long as 6x is enough to see the rings under varying conditions. they're the right weight and size for easy carry. let us know how they work. DropTine49
Shooting BowHunter Novice (max 30 yards) I use a pair of $15 Bushnell 10 X 25 and can see all scoring rings with no problem. Shooting open class I can see using a better pair, but I haven't had a problem yet. On most targets with a replaceable vital where you can see center 10 and have a good idea where the lower 12 is, there are some targets that I don't use them on at all.
