shickoff
Yep . . . five out-of-state hunts and local action. Need a bigger wallet for my licenses and tags! Edited January 16, 2012 by shickoff
Rhino
Yep...2 out of state hunts (KS & MO) and the local action here too. Been needing Osceola birds to complete slams for a long time too. Don't know if I'll ever make it to Florida to do that though.
shickoff
Osceola always seems the toughest to add to the Slam for a couple reasons: one state only (Florida's a long way for some guys, eh), pricey outfitters overall (but not always) and public land challenges (like anywhere; though it can be done). I've hunted (and killed) Oscies over the years with good and "bad" results (kills and near-kills), and always tell guys who ask: do it now; never a better time. Land access issues aren't going away anytime soon. If you can hook up with a contact there, do it. It's a cool place to chase turkeys . . . gator-filled swamp birds might be among the toughest gobblers on the planet.
dbHunterNY
nope... saving up for a wedding. if i do go anywhere it'll be to Florida for an Osceola. my parent's just bought a home down there. I'd just have to find land to hunt or find an outfitter, buy the tag, and buy plane ticket or drive down.

Mystery Hunter
Plan on a trip to KS and MO. Our spring season in East Texas closed for this year and will have to travel to hunt them. Anyone Hunt KS that knows a good outfitter?? I have relatives in MO that has land I will hunt on and they have seen a lot with no hunting pressure for some time! jesse8953
I have never been there but i think I'm going to book a hunt here.Kansas Turkey Hunting | Kansas Rio Grande Turkey Hunts | Rio Turkey Hunts I have hunted public land 2 years in a row with no succsess and almost got shot last year.We were working 3 birds and a guy jumped the creek and shot 1. We had pellets landing in front of us.He said he did know we were working the birds {for over a hour}.Then he said it was the last few hours he had to hunt before going back to Missouri. At least it was a jake!Way to much pressure on the public land we hunted!I'll pay a outfitter this year. toddyboman
I would love to go hunt rios or merriums. But usually can't get a group of guys that are willing to go. So probably just hunt my home birds
