wtnhunt
Honestly, think Rick Perry would have probably been the best, but unfortunately he is out. Nominee will end up being either Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich, of the two there is no question in my mind whatsoever that Newt would be more supportive of our rights. m gardner
Ron Paul would be the best but he would disrupt the status quo and go back to governing by Constitutional principals so everyone in the media has come out against him and he has little chance. Romney was governor of Massachusetts and was proud of having some of the touhgest gun laws in the U.S. and Gingrich has openly stated that we the people should not have any military style weapons at all so I don't believe things will get better with either of them. pointing_dogs_rule
Santorum:

As a Senator, Rick Santorum opposed frivolous lawsuits against the gun industry by supporting legislation (The Protection of Lawful Commerce Act) that would protect law abiding firearms manufacturers and dealers from frivolous lawsuits attempting to hold them liable for criminal acts of third parties. Rick Santorum vehemently opposed the Assault Weapons Ban because he believes that there are more effective ways to stop gun violence, such as stricter enforcement of existing laws, than taking away the rights of law abiding gun owners. Senator Santorum was also the proud author of legislation to eliminate the requirement that all hunters and fishermen furnish their social security numbers when getting a license. It was estimated that this legislation would help save 16 million hunters and another 24 million fishermen who buy their licenses every year from falling victim to identity theft. For his work on behalf of gun owners and sportsmen across the country, Senator Santorum consistently received the highest possible ratings from the National Rifle Association and gun owners groups from around the country. good luck to all the dog
