wildaboutturkeys
Hi Everyone! I've been hunting since I was a child and am now getting into bow hunting and I'm not sure which bow to get. I was wondering if any of you - men or women have any suggestions or comments between the following bows: PSE Rally Quest Torch Bear Outbreak Diamond Razor Thanks! PotashRLS
I would add the Hoyt Ruckus to your list. Being a Hoyt guy, I have heard a lot of good about the bow for youth and ladies. Customized color schemes too. Bottom line for a ladies bow is that it fits her well otherwise she won't want to shoot it and practice. It takes a lot of practice for a new archer to become proficient, especially when transitioning from targets to game.
dbHunterNY
My fiance has the Diamond Edge which is the previous model to the Razor Edge. She likes it. The adjustability makes it easy to re-sell too. One thing to consider is the Bear and Diamond bows listed are about 1 lb lighter in mass weight than the others. Many women will end up at 50lbs draw weight and won't go much higher. Many guys and older youths are fine with 60 lbs. Although a 40-50 lb draw weight bow would be maybe ideal for you, there is something else to consider. If you can pull 50 lbs ok then, looking at bows with 50-60 lb limbs would expand your options. The larger amount of adjustability is nice, but doesn't necessarily make it a better bow. Also, you should shoot a lot of options and all you're considering, before you buy. Another thing... If you're a new bow shooter, a bow with a good back wall will help out with your shooting form (way you consistently stand and hold the bow). When you pull it back all the way, it should stop like your arm hit a wall. Edited January 30, 2012 by dbHunterNY
layin on the smackdown
I bought my wife a Mission (by mathews) 3 years ago and she absolutely loves it. Its extremely quiet, very fast, very forgiving and very affordable. I think i bought hers new for around $375. I would recommend that bow to any female archer out there. good luck in your search. dan

However their back wall is nothing compared to a Diamond. That is why I bought my daughter a Diamond Razor Edge. When she gets older and stronger she can choose what bow fits her best. IMHO I would go with the Diamond.
wildaboutturkeys
Thanks everyone for your comments - they've all been very helpful. I didn't want to have to drive 2 1/2 hours but I am going to go to Cabelas and shoot a few different ones and choose from there!
Turkeygirl
I would add Elite Hunter to your list as well...I shoot one, awesome bow. DropTine49
Of the bows on your list the PSE Rally is awesome! It has more adjustability than the Razor Edge and shoots great. Looking at the bear line I would look at the Homewrecker or an older Truth 2 ultra light. If any way possible shoot all options and choose what feels the most comfortable to you to shoot. Ozarkgal
The first Bow I had, and wish I had it back was a matthews mustang. That was the best bow I have ever had.
