motrader
I am new to the site but what I have read has been very interesting and informative. Issue: My Moultrie M-80 & M-100 cameras advertise the internal battery packs can power the cameras up to 1 yr. Yeah, Right. Only if they don't take pictures. Both models have 12 volt external power connectors. I plan on using 2 - 6 volt rechargeable lantern batteries with the trickle charger to maintain prolonged power to the cameras. The solar panel trickle charger has an output of 125 mA with a voltage range of 12 - 24 volts. Do I need to install a regulator or controller between the panel and batteries to prevent damage to the batteries or cameras? The panel advertises a diode to prevent battery discharge over night. Any help would be appreciated.
