borch
Just picked up a Stoeger 2000 autoloader with a 24" barrel in Advantage Timber HD as a dual purpose turkey/waterfowl gun. The top one is what it looks like(except my has sling mounts). All I need now is a comp-n-choke and some time at the pattern board.

[/ QUOTE ] Actually many turkey guns come with a 21" barrel. For upland game 26" is pretty standard. This should work pretty well for both. I've shot a couple of the Stoeger 2000 and they fit me pretty well. We'll have to see how it works out. Definitely can't beat the price. KYLimbHanger
Re: Borch\'s new toy. Haven't heard much about Stoeger? I assume BenelliUSA makes them. Upon investigation, Stoeger does seem to be much much cheaper than Benelli's. What about their quality? May have to get me one of these!!! Nut
Re: Borch\'s new toy. Good pick up on the new shotgun. Funny thing is the barrel on my Mossberg is 28 inches. A little long for the basic turkey shotgun but I also use it for waterfowl.

borch
Re: Borch\'s new toy. No I haven't yet. It's been way too cold here the past few weeks. A person would hate to freeze off your trigger finger. Borch
borch
Re: Borch\'s new toy. Well I shot some trap with it today. Busted a lot of clays without many misses. Then I patterned it with the stock turkey choke and #5 Federal HV #5 with flitewad and Winchester HV #5. At 40 yards they were dead turkey but not the type of pattern I'd like to see. The federals shot a little better(average of 5 lethal hits) than Winchesters( average of 3 lethal hits). Can't wait until my com n choke gets here. Weather is starting to get decent.
