redkneck
Saw this on another forum, pop putting an end to his daughter's FB ranting. There is some language in there, so be forewarned. The ending is the best.

LETMGROW
That was too easy. My kids are too old to have had computers when they were growing up. Maybe that is why they were good and respectful most of the time. Lynn
redkneck
Folks send me some of these kids rants in emails and it's sickening. I know some kids (my brother included) that were pure heathens despite good parenting, but most of it is their own making by giving them too much rope and not commanding their respect. LETMGROW
redneck, isn't commanding their respect abuse? Lynn
Rhino
redneck, isn't commanding their respect abuse? Lynn If it is, I'd have to plead guilty! My son's old enough now (25) where this facebook ranting junk wasn't an issue to deal with for me when he was growing up. I cringe to think what other parents go through that find out about this kind of disrespectful junk being posted about them. Surprised he didn't toss it up at the end like a clay pigeon & give his shotgun a go at it....PULL!
Ravin R10 man
Cant say I blame him..but I think there is more to this story than what was told
redkneck
There always is. Bet he wasnt just "installing software". Dont get me wrong, no excuse for a kid to diss their parents, but overbearing parenting can have negative results.
wtnhunt
Maybe its just me, but seemed maybe a little put on, not sure his intentions were to humiliate his daughter or get his own attention. Also agree with Martin, sure there is more to the story that led to the issue that the guy did not share for whatever reason. On kids and parenting, just my observation, but seems kids these days have much more in the way of what is expected as opposed to what is necesary than they did when I was growing up. They have an expectation that parents have to give them cell phones or that they should have one because all their friends have them. Too many parents cave and give their 7 and 8 year olds cell phones and laptops when truth is that they simply do not need them.

I am only 27 but I remember when I was growing up my parents made me work for anything I wanted. I am glad for it. Kids now a days have this "entitled" feeling. They are "entitled" to anything they want without doing anything to get it. They think everyone owes them and unfortunatly this society and government are adding to that. fly
Mike got it right: "They think everyone owes them and unfortunatly this society and government are adding to that." Mom's and Dad's have to stop expecting everything for their kids in order for the kids not to expect it. Dad - for getting angry at the highschool coach when his son (who stinks at basketball) tells the coach his son needs more playing time. Mom - for calling the dean and complaining that her daughter isn't getting A's like she did in high school.

Ravin R10 man
3 things I cued in on when I listened to the video..and I listened 1 time.. 1. there has been a divorce 2. there is a stepmom in the house 3. the need for a cleaning lady.. (wonder "who" isnt pulling their weight here) all I know is when we introduced a new 'kitty" cat into our house, she got a huge HISS, and a GROWL. from the resident kitty The computer thing...well thats not the problem ..just a symptom of whats going on there that's my take of this Edited February 12, 2012 by Mathews XT Man
layin on the smackdown
Where he made his mistake, he used a .45. I'd have used a 12 ga. ......just for effect! TBow I was thinking the exact same thing...Wuss...he shouldve use some type of explosive - or at least a 12 gauge slug...that wouldve animated his seriousness and brought it to a whole nother level. either way, good for him. I just wonder how this is going to come back and bite him in the rear. dan
ruttinbuc
I think it is a little put on myself. If he was really as pissed as he says he is, he could have done all the talking parts in one take... As Martin says...more to the story.... clrj3514
I'm young myself (18) & I would NEVER do something like she did. That being said, I've been raised with morals & have some respect. If the facts he states are true he has every right to be mad. Like others though I feel like it's put on. Shooting the computer was a complete waste of money if you ask me. He could have given it away or something besides shooting up his own money. One thing he does that a lot of parents do bugs me though. He threw up the "I feed you, clothe you, put a roof over your head, etc." cliche. While I don't believe parents should spoil their kids, that old saying is complete crap in my eyes. When you decide to bring a child into this world things like that are your obligations. I know that's a bit off topic but it kills me. I'm sure there is a lot more to this story than his 8 minute video. Either way, he's got to live with it. bbarcheryhunter
I think he should of started back wen she was a little girl not now 2 straighten her out. I think its sad that we have to post our way of parenting to get our point across to our children and yea donate that laptop instead of shooting it all up
Adjam5
With the way parents lives are disected by the press, when situations like this become known by many. I hope that father doesn't see repercussions by whomever wants to spin his actions, that the child is in danger. Being a parent is hard hard thing. I am raising 3 sons(20,18,15) who now are all bigger and stronger than me. So the slap and kick in the butt does not have its effect anymore. I have to lean towards the respect strength I have to make them do things my way. Also there is no firearm discharge in my town, so I would have to use a baseball bat on their pc if they ever did that . There is more to that story than meets the eye. The press is having a field day with this.
