SuperMn106
I have decided that this year is the time to upgrade to a new bow. My bow is currently 10 years old going on 11. I have made up my mind that I am going to stick with Bowtech. I have narrowed it down to a couple in my price range. I have been looking at the Assassin, Guardian, Admiral. I will have to go shoot them to see which I like best. Who has any of these bows and who has shot them? What did you like? What didnt you like? dbHunterNY
interesting that you picked a couple bows that are discontinued and one that's new. As far as the Guardian and Admiral go I'd pick the Guardian over the Admiral. It's speed is similar but it has a slightly longer axle-to-axle and tall brace height over 7". I almost remember the draw cycle being better on the Guardian than the Admiral. Comparing them to the Assassin I'm not sure what to tell you. Haven't really shot it next to the others or really shot it period. Maybe someone on here is a Bowtech fan and has shot all them enough to give you more feedback. No bow company gives me a bow so i shoot everything and buy the one that shoots best. i've got a Bear, a Diamond (Bowtech), a Hoyt, and a PSE. lol

I have narrowed it down to these because looking on ebay and elsewhere they are the ones in my price range. I was not looking to get a new bow because I did not want to spend 800-1000+ on a bow. I find it funny because I want to get something more modern and updated but at the same time I am really interested into getting a recurve/longbow and go the more traditional way as well. Leo
If you are looking at Bowtech's you should shoot a 340 Destroyer if you get a chance. Great bow.
TheProvider
I haven't shot an assassin yet but I've heard great things about them. With you shooting a 10yr old bow you'll definately notice some big changes. Goodluck with your choice

redkneck
Good luck with it Mike. Last 2 Fred Bear bows I purchased were new ones that were being discontinued. Ended up with new bows at half the cost. Too much for me to spring that 700-800 bucks every 4-5 years or so.
00DodgeGuy
I bought an Assassin this season...shot different bows before purchasing and this thing is just dead in your hand at the shot. I love it.
abrown
I know what you mean, I bought a recurve last year and started bowfishing, it's pretty fun! I bought my Hoyt Maxxis off e-bay new. I bought it in March or April of 2011 and it was a 2010 model. I only paid $650, pretty cheap compared to new ones. TheProvider
that's the great thing about bows. you can get brand new bows from the following year for a great deal. If you like bowtech don't be afraid to look at diamond
