Dream Vehicles

What's everyone's dream cars or motorized vehicles? If you could have anything what would you get. For me it'd ether be a Corvette ZR1 or a Cadillac CTS-V. Will probably be in the market for a new car next year, if I can find a nice used CTS-V like a 2006 or so for around $20K it'll be mine!

Think I'm also gonna get a sled next year. Used to have one when I was a kid and I drool every time I see one! Miss the sport so much! So much fun zipping down the lake at over 100mph in 30 below zero. I know, call me crazy.

Shaun, Don't really have a " Dream Car " but I'll see if I can get a couple pics. of my 67 Firebird 400 conv. I've owned this since '82, known it since day one when a good friend of mine bought it new. Drove it the first night he had it.

No luck with the pics. My daughter will be over tomorrow night and she will help me out. Her Camaro SS is parked next to me

2012 Chevy ZR1 3ZR Centennial Edition Vette

.....or i would settle for a 20?? Chevy Silverado 4x4 crew cab with at least 300 HP and 30 mpg highway.... with a realtree sticker in the back window.

if a had a rare american muscle car i wouldn't want to drive it much. i'd rather have it sit in my garage and then invite buddies to come over, have a beer, and look at it parked out in the driveway. what's the fun in that.

Not considering resale (who'd want a camaro when you could get a Bughatti and sell it to by 100 of them) I'd have to go with a gen one camaro. I miss my old 68 Z28 even if it was a rust bucket. First body style I fell in love with as a kid. 69's are fine too, just like the 67-68 a little better.

That being said, you can't beat modern performance either. Rode in my buddy's Z06 a month ago and all I can say is WOW! Hard to pass on the handling and braking as well as compared to the antiques.

Local guy had one of these in camo, wish I could have snapped a pic of it - it's the ultimate in redneck transportation:

800 triple Mach Z was a fast sled! A buddy of mine had one back in the day. That thing would walk away from my 583 Formula Z.

They are an awesome machine, wanted one since I was a kid! The sound of them just stands the hair up on the back of my neck, mean sounding machines! This one sounds amazing.

Sorry

2) lotus esprit oops

I've had the glorious pleasure to drive a Lotus Esprit, think it was a 2008. Back when I was licenced to do the emissions testing when I was an apprentice I had to take one out for a quick rip to get the engine up to operating temp before I performed the E-test on it. Had a hard time folding my 6'4" self into it but it was a fun little car to drive.

Sean

I'm very, very impressed and envious! I've seen and been next to one and watched it drive off.....mmmm

Tell me more

Had quite a bit of zip! It was yellow, freakin blast to drive. Got to drive a 2006 Ferrari 360 Modena around the building a few months back, service advisor was scared to get in it to move it from the drive thru to the E-test bay so I gladly stepped up to the plate:cool:

I only ever drove a Ferrari once. That was enough! It was probably 20 years ago, I was still running my shop from home. I had a doctor customer who I had been doing work for call me and ask if I would check a used car out that he was interested in buying. Not sure what year it was but it was only 2-3 years old. I said: " Shure ". I didn't even ask him what kind of car it was. He brought the car up late afternoon and when he drove in I looked and said, " what is that thing "? The doc got out and said , " Here it is ". I didn't even want the thing in the yard, I don't know anything about a Ferrari. He said he just wanted me to look it over to be sure I didn't think it was ever wrecked or if I saw anything obvious wrong with it. I finally agreed and he said he would leave it until the next afternoon. As he got into his wife's car he remarked, " I hate to spend $ 95,000 on a used car without someone I trust looking it over ".

When my son got home from school he looked at the car and said, " Neat, what is it "?

I told him and he was impressed. I said, " do your homework and I'll take you for a ride after supper ". We had supper a little late so when we were ready it was getting pretty dark outside. We got into the car and fired it up. Sweet! 350 v-8 and a 5 speed. I fumbled around to find the headlamp switch and finally got the lights on. They didn't seem overly bright. We left the driveway and I hit the gas and we were GONE! Into 2 nd. and just going for 3 rd. ( we were moving ) when suddenly I saw something move in the road. WOW, I slammed the brakes on, made a hard left and a hard right and stopped. Marc asked, " where did those deer come from "? I could hardly talk. There were 6 deer standing in the middle of the road likely as shell shocked as I was. I looked at Marc and said " we are going home ". It wasn't until I got home when I realized the reason the lights weren't too bright is all I had on was the driving lights. Obviously the lights weren't the only thing not too bright that evening.

When the customer came in the next night he asked me if I thought the car had ever been wrecked. I said NO, not yet. He paid me for my time and drove off.

I was glad to see it go.
