redkneck
Closing in about an extra 200 sqft on the house the wife says can be "mine". Would like to get something pretty rustic going on there to put all my stuff in. Thinking something ruff-cut, would love to get some old weathered pine, though it's getting hard to come by these days. Any suggestions on the interior walls and ceiling? Shaun_300
Sounds good John! I think you'd like my uncle's mancave. Here's a few pics to give you ideas. This is before it was finished, I'll have to get some new pics!
NS whitetail
I used some old lumber that was washed up on the shore, its is old and rustic with seaworm holes and such in it, everyone who has seen it says it looks great. dbHunterNY
takes some time to acquire that kind of decor.
Dawg
My man cave is plastic, has an igloo look to it, not real spacious and smells like a dog.

redkneck
Lewis that is a nice looking entry. I thought about maybe finding an old barn or shed I could get some lumber off of, still may go that route..... that is unless the wife that told me I could do what I wanted with the room suddenly crawfishes on me! wtnhunt
Good luck with the project John, post some pics if you can. Dunno about finding rough cut boards, but have you considered t&g exterior log siding, something like one of these http://www.twincreeksloghomes.com/logsiding.aspx ? Know of a few sawmills that run the siding, but they are in middle and east Tn. Our seller on our house cut us short on materials, had a pretty big chunk out of pocket to finish on interior panels that we had not planned for, this place I posted the link to above was about the best price wise and to work with I that I was able to find, might help you get some ideas. Had some places locally but they did not have the white pine to match what we had. On Shaun's pics, wow. Quite a collection your uncle has there. Got a few projects I got to get into as soon as it warms up a bit, going to cut down a few cedars and got to find a draw knife. Going to try to build a log bed frame for our loft. RangerClay
Here are some pics from my man cave. They were taken about 3 years ago just after completion so I have more stuff on the walls now. I like pine also so I went with pine wainscoting and pine trim. Rough cut pine may be hard to dust and keep clean.
redkneck
Joe you really did a nice job with that! Haven't thought about wainscoting, may be worth looking at. William I really hadn't considered siding like that either. Thought about maybe using vertical cedar planks with strips over the joints, but as Joe mentioned that can be hard to keep clean too. EastTnHunter
maybe you will see the light some day lol, sports themed man caves are awesome as well as the outdoors theme, either way you need a minimum of a 60'' tv...
